Baseball rallies in ninth, falls 5-2 to Rose-Hulman

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The baseball team pressed forward and brought the winning run to the plate in the final inning in a 5-2 loss to Rose-Hulman on Wednesday. Despite facing a 5-1 deficit entering the ninth inning, Greenville had loaded the bases loaded when the game ended and scored a run.

Ian Wilson pitched two perfect innings of relief, and Terry Millikan threw a scoreless inning.

Dylan Boehm allowed an unearned run in the eighth inning, and Braden Maltbie was reached for a two-run home run in the ninth inning.

Greenville tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the second with a sacrifice fly from Trent Morgenstern.

The Panthers held RHIT off the scoreboard until the Engineers tallied a run in the top of the fourth, and RHIT posted three runs combined over the final two innings.

Drew Frey, Landon Mokris, Mark Islas, Dustin Sutton, and Austin Lawrence each hit safely.

The Panthers (15-19) travel to GCS Ballpark in Sauget, Ill., for a Friday and Saturday three-game series against Webster.
