Baseball topped 4-3 by Anderson in 10 innings

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The baseball team suffered a 4-3 loss in 10 innings against Anderson on Tuesday during their trip to Florida.

The Panthers were the visiting team on the scoreboard and jumped ahead with a run in the second inning before allowing the Ravens to score in the bottom of the third.

In the fourth inning, the Panthers scored a run, but the Anderson squad took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.

The Panthers battled in the ninth inning, and Miggy Viillalobos provided a sacrifice fly to allow the Panthers to tie the score at 3-all.

Brady Salzman recorded two outs in the 10th inning before giving up Anderson's winning run.

Starting pitcher Joe Short worked 4.1 innings, allowing three runs on nine hits with two strikeouts.

Relief pitchers Ty Kueper, Luke McBee, and Jacob Hammer pitched 4.2 innings of scoreless baseball.

Villalobos drove in all three runs for the Panthers without the benefit of a hit.  He had two sacrifice flies and an RBI groundout.

Landon Mokris went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, and Jacob Sutton posted a 2-for-4 hitting line.

Logan Doll hit 2-for-3 with a run scored.

The Panthers (4-9) will square off against Beloit and Cornell on Thursday in Auburndale.
