Football races past Westminster 52-0

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The football team manhandled Westminster on Saturday at Francis Field, taking a 52-0 win.

Greenville led 7-0 after the first quarter and 21-0 at halftime.

In the third quarter GU had two defensive touchdowns, a punt return TD, and a run by Peyton Bates for a TD.

The Panthers wrapped up their scoring in the fourth quarter with a field goal from Lucas Hermo.

Bates ended with 142 yards passing, two TD's, and one interception.

Paul Garrett rushed 13 times for 101 yards and caught two passes for 62 yards.

The defensive effort was led by Malik Grant with five solo tackles. Turjon McLaurin had the fumble return TD, and Jaden Apple-Gibbs scored on an interception.

The Panthers (4-3, 2-1 UMAC) will enjoy a bye week on Oct. 22, and they will next play on Oct. 29 at Crown.
