Men's basketball wraps up 2021-22 campaign with loss in SLIAC tournament quarterfinals

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The men's basketball season concluded with a 133-100 loss to Fontbonne in the quarterfinals of the SLIAC tournament on Tuesday night. Greenville scored 50 points in each half and Fontbonne nearly scored an identical 66 and 67 points in each half to move to the SLIAC tournament semifinals on Thursday night against Webster.

Travis Dickey put 15 points through the hoop to end as GU's leading scorer. He knocked down four three-pointers and 3-of-4 free throws.

Romello Ball had a 13 point outing to lead the second unit, and Nick Bouye added 12 points.

Chris Jackson tallied 10 points in the final game of his GU career.

Julius Erby led GU with 11 rebounds in the game, while Ball and Kaidyn Johnson helped the Panthers with two steals.

Ball was also the leading assist man with five in the game.

The Panthers shot 33-of-95 from the field, finishing at a 34.7 percent clip. GU made 16-of-52 treys

The Panthers (5-21) conclude their season as the NCAA Division III top scoring team with an average in excess of 110 points per game.
