Men's basketball drops 155-127 contest at Lakeland

PLYMOUTH, Wis. - The men's basketball team made the six and a half hour trip to Lakeland in Wisconsin and suffered a 155-127 defeat at the hands of the Muskies. The Panthers kept their position as the top scoring team in the NCAA Division III and were led by Travis Dickey with 25 points and a group of five other players that surpassed double-digit scoring efforts.

The Panthers made 47.5 percent of their shots (47-of-99), including 33.3 percent (14-of-42) behind the three-point arc. They were extremely efficient at the free throw line, making 19-of-24 charity tosses to finish at 79.2 percent.

Greenville was outrebounded 49-37 and didn't force Lakeland into as many turnovers as they needed to make full use of their "System" style of play. The Muskies only committed 17 turnovers.

In addition to Dickey's 25 point outing, GU received 16 points from Jarred Johnson and had a collection of three players - Brock Bailey, Darius Scott, and Keishun Thomas - with 14 points. Kaidyn Johnson added 13 points.

Thomas led the way for Greenville with a team-high five steals, and J. Johnson added six assists.

Donato Pakak was the top rebounder for the Panthers with eight in the game, including five offensive rebounds.

The Panthers (0-8) will continue their season with a trip to Lookout Mountain, Ga., to play Covenant on Saturday, Dec. 10.
