Men's basketball topped by Principia 94-91

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's basketball team suffered a disappointing 94-91 loss to Principia in H.J. Long Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. The GU Panthers led Principia's Panthers 57-41 at halftime but were outscored 53-34 in the second half.

Keishun Thomas was GU's leading scorer with 17 points in the game, and Kaidyn Johnson added 14 points.

Darius Scott and Jarred Johnson each added 12 points, and Joseph Craig increased GU's number of double-digit scorers to five with an 11-point effort.

Thomas was effective on both sides of the ball, adding a team-high five steals to his line. Jarred Johnson added three steals.

The Panthers had a handful of opportunities to tie the score in the final minute of the game, but they were unable to capitalize on the chances.

Greenville (1-12, 0-2 SLIAC) will travel to Webster for a game on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
