Men's basketball keeps home winning streak alive against Westminster

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's basketball team ran their home winning streak to four with a a 118-103 victory against Westminster on Wednesday night in H.J. Long Gymnasium.

The Panthers led 58-45 at halftime and pushed their lead to 21 points in the second half before settling for the 15 point win.

Greenville's unit of Joseph Craig, Adrian Alvarez, Kaidyn Johnson, Carlos Crespo, and Travis Dickey played especially well in the matchup. Dickey led the group with 14 points, Crespo had 13 points, Alvarez provided 12 points, and Johnson tallied 10 points. Craig helped the squad with five assists, four rebounds, and three steals.

The starting five was led in scoring by Darius Scott with 15 points. Keishun Thomas posted 14 points, and Jarred Johnson added 11 points.

The Panthers forced Westminster into committing 27 turnovers in the game and had 21 steals.

K. Johnson accumulated four steals, and Thomas added three steals.

The Panthers (6-16, 5-6 SLIAC) will host Blackburn on Saturday at 3 p.m. A win over the Beavers would give Greenville a guaranteed position in the SLIAC tournament first round.
