Men's basketball suffers 135-96 defeat at Fontbonne

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The men's basketball team was unable to get on track in Saturday's 135–96 loss to Fontbonne in the final regular season contest for both teams.

Greenville trailed 66-49 after the first half and slipped even further behind as they were outscored 69-47 in the second half.

When the Panthers cannot force turnovers, teams generally hold the upper hand, and the Panthers were severely inhibited when their defensive pressure only resulted in 14 Fontbonne turnovers.

Jarred Johnson collected three of GU's 10 steals, and he also led GU with eight rebounds.

Travis Dickey posted a 19 point performance to lead the Panthers, and Carlos Crespo provided 13 points.

Kaidyn Johnson rounded out Greenville's collection of double figure scorers with 10 points, and Joseph Craig joined Crespo with a team-high four assists.

The Panthers (7-18, 6-8 SLIAC) will travel to Eureka as the No. 6 seed for the SLIAC tournament on Wednesday night.  The Panthers would play Webster on Friday night with a win on Wednesday.
