Men's basketball collects 116-109 road win at Eureka

EUREKA, Ill. - The men's basketball team stayed in the first place position in the SLIAC standings with a hard fought 116-109 win at Eureka on Wednesday night. The Panthers offensive leaders included Kiarie Patrick with 23 points and Carlos Crespo with 19 points in the triumph.

After trailing 55-47 at halftime, the Panthers outscored Eureka 69-54 in the second half for the victory.

In a back-and-forth contest, the two teams combined for 20 tie scores and 30 lead changes in the game.

Ja'Rod Webb, Vincent Rodriguez, Grimmett Glenn, and Jamie Calmese joined Patrick and Crespo with more than 10 points in the game. Webb finished with 14 points, Rodriguez had 13 points, and Glenn and Calmese each had 10.

Patrick managed to complete his third double-double of the season when he added a team-leading 14 rebounds.

Greenville's assist leader was Rodriguez with six, and Patrick, Webb, Rodriguez Christian Bennett added three steals.

The Panthers (11-5, 7-2 SLIAC) will welcome Blackburn to H.J. Long Gymnasium on Saturday at 3 p.m.
