Men's gymnastics records third place at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. - The men's gymnastics team competed at the alma mater of its head coach Zach Peters on Friday night. The Panthers ranked third of the three teams with a total of 384.050 points at Nebraska.

Nebraska won the competition with 410.800, and Ohio State was second with 401.750.

Greenville had the event's only two all-arounders. Ricky Mays topped teammate Ryan Barela 76.300-75.650 to win the all-around competition.

The Panthers had several student-athletes place in the top half of their respective event field.

Kevin Laurino was GU's highest individual finisher. He scored 13.150 in the parallel bars to place sixth.

Jacob Foster ended eighth in the pommel with a score of 13.000.

Barela was Greenville's top finisher in the vault, posting a total of 14.400.

Koby Cantu, Foster, and Donovan Diviney just missed a top half finish with ninth place scores of 12.300 in the high bar.

The Panthers will return to competition on April 1 in the ECAC championships at Navy.
