Men's gymnastics finishes third at USAG Championships

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The men's gymnastics team traveled to Air Force to compete in the USAG Collegiate National Championships. On day one, the Panthers took third place with a score of 390.750. 

Greenville racked up some high scores on day one, including a 69.4 on floor, which is a new program record for the Panthers. 

Zach Connelly put up an impressive floor exercise score of 14.100, earning second place. Charles Kramer put up a 13.950 for third place, and Michael Avery tied for fourth place with a 13.900. 

Landon Benas was Greenville's top performer in the pommel horse, still rings, and parallel bars. He posted a 13.450 for eighth place on pommel, a 12.800 for eleventh place in rings, and a 13.600 in the parallel bars to tie for sixth. 

In the vault, Avery received a mark of 14.250 to earn third place. 

Donovan Diviney scored a 13.200 for a seventh-place finish on the high bar. Jacob Foster trailed closely behind, earning a 13.050 to tie for eighth place. 

The Panthers didn't enter anyone into the all-around competition. 

GU will send a handful of gymnasts into the USAG Championships Event Finals tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
