Men's soccer topped 3-1 by Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The men's soccer team matched up with Manchester in their final contest prior to the start of the SLIAC portion of their schedule and fell 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.

After today's match, Greenville has 14 conference matches and one non-conference match against Washington-St. Louis on the schedule.

The Panthers allowed a goal in the fifth minute of the game as Manchester opened with an early lead. In the 23rd minute, Manchester added another goal and picked up a third goal in the 39th minute.

Before halftime, Luis Duran was assisted by Sergio Lamolda for his second goal of the season.

Greenville managed to outshoot Manchester 13-9, being led by Jared McPeek's four shots and three shots on goal. Duran also had three shots, all on goal.

Goalkeeper Pedro Vebber collected three saves and permitted all three goals in 90 minutes of action.

The Panthers (2-3) will host Spalding on Thursday at 5 p.m.
