Men's soccer locks up 1-1 with SLIAC leader Webster in double overtime

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's soccer team came ready to tangle with Webster on Monday night in a match that was a make-up from their previously scheduled match on October 2. In a double-overtime thriller, the men tied Webster 1-1.

Greenville posted the first goal of the match in the 36th minute when Napoleon Urquidi deposited a shot in the net for his fourth goal of the season. Andre Dos Santos was credited with the assist.

GU held the one goal advantage for 48 minutes until Webster produced the tying goal in the 84th minute.

Overall, Jaimes Torres was Greenville's leader in shots with three.

Goalkeeper Pedro Vebber added five saves, and his only blemish occurred on a penalty kick late in the match.

Overall, Webster held a 19-11 shot advantage, but Greenville made the most of their chances.

The Panthers (8-7-1, 6-3-1 SLIAC) have a match against Westminster on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
