Men's soccer pins shutout on Principia

ELSAH, Ill. - The men's soccer team picked up a critical 1-0 win at Principia on Tuesday night.

The Panthers received a goal from Jaime Torres and the shutout by Hiram Cruz.

It was a scoreless game until the 82nd minute when Torres scored with an assist from Moritz Gruenig

Pablo Valverde and Gabriel Lima also had notable attempts for the Panthers. Valverde and Lima both had two shots in the game.

Greenville outshot Principia 11-5.

The Panthers did well defensively, not allowing Principia to get a shot off in the first half. All five of their attempts occurred in the second half. 

Cruz had two saves while in the net for the Panthers. 

Greenville (5-6-2, 1-1-2 SLIAC) travel to Blackburn on Saturday.
