Men's soccer pushes conference unbeaten streak to four with 2-0 win at Blackburn

CARLINVILLE, Ill. - The men's soccer team received two goals from Pablo Valverde in their 2-0 win over Blackburn on Saturday afternoon.

The Panthers went into halftime with ten shots and a 0-0 score.

However, in the second half, Valverde was able to score in the 58th and 85th minutes. Jaime Torres had the assist for both goals.

Greenville had ten more shots in the second half, outshooting the Beavers 20-7.

A quarter of those shots were from Torres. He led the Panthers in shots against Blackburn.

Hiram Cruz defended the net for Greenville with three saves. He was awarded his third win of the season.

The Panthers (6-6-2, 2-1-2 SLIAC) go to Westminster on Wednesday for a match at 5 p.m.
