Men's tennis earns two wins

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. - The men's tennis team took two wins in Indiana on Saturday, winning 9-0 over Franklin before taking a 6-3 decision over Wabash.

Greenville opened the day with a perfect 9-0 win over Franklin. Every match was won in straight sets.

Victories were obtained in doubles by No. 1 Andres Sanchez and Rafael Rodriguez, No. 2 Luke Motsinger and Clark Kent, and No. 3 Julian Delrez and Matt Lehr.

Singles wins were produced by No. 1 Rodriguez, No. 2 Kent, No. 3 Motsinger, No. 4 Delrez, No. 5 Lehr, and No. 6 Thibault Tignee.

In the day's second match, the Panthers defeated Wabash in two of the three doubles matches before taking four of six singles matches.

GU's pairing of Sanchez and Rodriguez won 8-2 in No. 1 doubles, and the No. 2 doubles team of Kent and Motsinger won 8-7 (9-7).

In singles, No. 1 Sanchez captured a 6-3, 6-2 victory, and No. 4 Motsinger gained a 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) win.

The Panthers received a 6-4, 2-6, 10-5 win by No. 5 Austin Burkhart, and No. 6 Tignee dominated in a 6-1, 6-0 decision.

The Panthers (8-1) travel to Ilinois Wesleyan for a meet on Friday at 7 p.m.
