Men's tennis sweeps Tuesday slate

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The men's tennis team earned two wins on Tuesday in day two of competition in South Carolina. GU took a 6-3 win against LeTourneau and blanked Messiah 9-0.

Greenville opened the day against LeTourneau.

In doubles, the No. 2 team of Andres Sanchez and Luke Motsinger and the No. 3 duo of Jean Rigaud Sanabria and Clark Kent posted 8-2 wins.

In singles competition, No. 5 Sanabria and No. 6 Santiago Jaimes double bageled their opponents with 6-0, 6-0 wins.

No. 1 Sanchez earned a 6-4, 6-0 win, and No. 3 Kent posted a 6-3, 6-4 victory.

Greenville filled the scoresheet with winners in their shutout of Messiah.

The GU doubles teams that won included No. 1 Motsinger and Kent, No. 2 Dylan Collins and Sanchez, and No. 3 Thibaut Tignee and Sanabria.

No. 1 Sanchez, No. 2 Kent, No. 3 Motsinger, No. 4 Sanabria, and No. 5 Jaimes all won in straight sets.

No. 6 Collins required a third set tiebreaker to defeat his opponent.

The Panthers (7-5) will next face Gettysburg on Thursday in Hilton Head.
