Men's track and field opens with three wins at Illinois Wesleyan

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The men's track and field team began their indoor season with wins in three events at Illinois Wesleyan. Tyshawn Hamilton, Cory Stoll, and Matthew Binion all finished first in events, and Chase LaTouche established a new school record in the 300 meter dash.

Hamilton recorded a first place time of 7.02 seconds in the 60 meter dash.

Stoll reached a distance of 6.87 meters (22 feet-6.5 inches) in the long jump.

Binion posted a winning mark of 13.97 meters (45-10) in the shot put. He also placed second in the weight throw with an attempt of 16.48 meters (54-1).

Stoll picked up third place in the 60 meter dash (7.11 seconds), and Carter Kessinger finished the 600 meter run in 1:33.38 for third place.

Wesley Kile ranked third in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.50 meters (14-9), and Kyelon Hamilton took third in the triple jump with an attempt of 12.20 meters (40-0.5).

GU had three place fourth in the meet.

Quintral Clay ran a fourth place time of 23.66 seconds in the 200 meter dash.

Chase LaTouche posted a fourth place mark of 35.74 seconds in the 300, and Austin Ball was fourth in the 60 meter hurdles by posting a time of 9.05 seconds.

The Panthers will return to the track on Jan. 20 at Illinois College.
