Men's cross country finishes in top half of competitive field at Augustana

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The men's cross country team returned to action at Augustana on Friday and ran to an 11th place finish of 24 teams.

The Panthers were led by Gianni Estrada. Estrada's 20th place finish gave Greenville 19 points in the standings. He finished the race in 25:57.

After a gap in Greenville's finishers, Joe Gomez came in as the number two man with a time of 26:52 and a 62nd place mark.

Kaleb Carlson clocked a time of 27:03 and was 72nd overall.

Lukas Baird recorded Greenville's number four time in his 114th placement in 27:57.

GU's final scoring position was marked by Jeremiah Perry who was 129th with a time of 28:10.

Overall, Greenville compiled 312 points, just eight points away from a top 10 finish.

The Panthers return to the cross country course in Hillsboro on Friday, Oct. 15, in the Greenville Classic.
