Women's basketball drops contest at Millikin

DECATUR, Ill. - The women's basketball team suffered a 100-57 defeat against Millikin on Saturday.

Greenville had to play catchup from the beginning of the game, falling behind 26-10 after the first quarter and 52-26 at halftime.

GU came out in the second half and played Millikin tighter only being outscored by four points in the third quarter (21-17), but Millikin added seven points to GU's deficit with a 21-14 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Emily Reinneck ended as Greenville's leading scorer with 11 points, and she was the only Panther to reach double figures in the scoring column.

Ashley Anderson was GU's top rebounder with five in the game.

Reinneck, Ally Cantrill, and Madelyn Stephen all had three assists, and Cantrill had three of Greenville's six steals.

Despite the final score, Greenville held a 13-6 advantage over Millikin in offensive rebounds.

The Panthers (0-2) will play Brevard on Friday at Covenant just outside of Chattanooga, Tenn., in the Mountaintop Madness tournament.
