Women's basketball topped at Washington St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The women's basketball team returned to the hardwood on Saturday at Washington St. Louis and came home with a 81-67 setback. The game was played with no fan attendance.

The Panthers led the game 19-17 after the first quarter, but WashU rattled of a second quarter advantage of 31-16 to carry a 48-35 lead into the locker room at halftime.

After three quarters, the Bears held a 66-49 lead before Greenville shaved three points from the deficit in the fourth quarter.

Madelyn Stephen posted Greenville's high scoring effort with 18 points when she converted 7-of-12 field goal attempts, 2-of-3 three pointers, and 2-of-2 free throws.

Emily Reinneck provided 13 points, and Ashley Anderson and Haven Robertson each added 10 points.

The Panthers (6-4) will resume their schedule with a SLIAC matchup against Principia on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in H.J. Long Gymnasium.
