Women's basketball drops second contest against Webster

WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. - The women's basketball team had a difficult time getting on track Tuesday night in their 87-55 loss at Webster. The Panthers were outscored in every quarter and only made 36.7 percent of their field goal attempts in the frustrating performance.

Tuesday night's game was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but due to the predicted weather coming into the region on Wednesday, the teams and conference agreed to move the contest forward by one night.

Webster led GU 23-15 after one quarter, 45-30 at halftime, and 67-40 after three before settling on the 32 point margin of victory.

Ashley Anderson managed to reach double figures in the scoring column for Greenville with 10 points and added a team-high two blocked shots. Emily Reinneck and Peyton Morris followed with nine points each.

GU's top rebounder was Reinneck with five, and Reinneck also led Greenville with three of the Panthers seven steals.

The loss evened Greenville's record at 9-9 (3-4 SLIAC) as they head into Saturday's showdown with Fontbonne.

The Panthers currently find themselves fifth in the SLIAC standings at the midpoint of the conference schedule. Fontbonne is just ahead of GU in the standings and has a win over Greenville to their credit.
