Women's gymnastics opens season with fourth place at Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The women's gymnastics team began their first season with a quad at Ohio State against OSU, Arizona, and Kentucky. The Panthers posted an overall score of 181.425 and took fourth place at the event.

Greenville earned their highest score in the vault where they collected 47.675 points. Amara Nelson provided GU's top mark with a total of 9.675, and Molly Froman and Ellery Gilmer added 9.550 scores.

In the uneven bars, GU's total score was 41.500. The team was paced by the performance of Madison Carter who gave GU 9.050 points.

Nelson produced a score of 9.475 in the balance beam as a part of Greenville's 46.025 total.

In the floor exercise, Audra Kaiser and Molly Froman both contributed totals of 9.550 points as GU earned 46.225 points.

Greenville's all-around entries were Nelson and Froman. Froman tallied GU's top all-around score with 37.250, adding totals of 9.025 in the uneven bars and 9.125 in the balance beam to her previously noted scores. Nelson finished with 34.175 points.

The Panthers will next compete at Southeast Missouri State on Saturday, Jan. 14.
