Women's gymnastics earns third at Southeast Missouri State

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The women's gymnastics team placed third at Southeast Missouri State on Saturday afternoon.

The Panthers collected a score of 180.475, falling to Southeast Missouri's total of 193.350 and Centenary's 189.825.

Greenville recorded their top score of 46.875 in the vault, placing second of the three teams.

Amara Nelson tied for fourth in the vault with a total score of 9.650.

Faye Jones offered Greenville a score of 9.575 in the uneven parallel bars, earning the fourth place point total. GU contributed 45.950 in the bars.

The balance beam was Greenville's most challenging rotation with a combined score of 42.425. Nelson produced a score of 8.900.

In the floor, Greenville's score of 45.225 was led by Molly Froman's total of 9.400.

The Panthers will return to action against Illinois State on Saturday, Jan. 21, in their first home meet. The meet will be contested at the Farm Heritage Museum in Greenville.
