Women's gymnastics collects another win over Simpson

INDIANOLA, Iowa - The women's gymnastics team defeated Simpson for the second time in three weeks with a 184.025-181.850 win on Saturday.

The Panthers made up for an early 47.250-44.200 deficit after the first rotation and took the lead 90.825-90.800 after the second rotation. GU held the lead after the third and fourth rotations.

Greenville's opening rotation was the uneven bars, and the Panthers posted a score of 44.200 while Simpson provided a score of 47.250 in the vault.

Sidnei Heubach posted the best score overall in the uneven bars with 9.300.

In the vault, GU's Ellery Gilmer tied two others from Simpson for the best rating. Gilmer provided a total of 9.500.

Greenville outscored Simpson in the floor with a total of 46.275 points. Rachel Miller produced the best routine in the floor with 9.550 points.

In GU's final rotation, Amara Nelson and Molly Froman each scored 9.600 on the beam.

Nelson ranked second in the All-Around competition with a score of 35.350.

The Panthers are scheduled to next compete at home on Feb. 25 against Southeast Missouri State.
