NORMAL, Ill. - The women's gymnastics team opened up their season on Friday night at Illinois State and placed fourth with an overall score of 185.600.

Rachel Miller achieved GU's best individual ranking, taking 11th in the floor exercise with a score of 9.750. Amara Nelson was third in the All-Around competition with a score of 38.000. 

The Panthers posted a 46.925 in vault. Nelson led the team in this event with a mark of 9.525.

Ashlie Leage was Greenville's top performer in the uneven bars, scoring a 9.650. 

In the balance beam, the Panthers totaled 45.675 points. Nelson led GU in this with a 9.450. 

The team will return to action at Lindenwood on Sunday.
