Women's gymnastics wins three of four events at Simpson

INDIANOLA, Iowa - The women's gymnastics team earned a win at Simpson on Saturday, taking a 186.725-186.200 decision.

The Panthers finished with the top team scores in the uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise.

Greenville started their afternoon on the bars, gathering 45.150 points. Ashlie Leage took first place in the bars with a 9.575. Amara Nelson wasn't too far behind her with a 9.275, ranking second. 

In the vault, Nelson placed third with a score of 9.575. Greenville posted 46.950 points in the event. 

Rachel Miller earned first place in the floor exercise with a mark of 9.725, adding to GU's event score of 47.375. 

The Panthers collected 47.250 points in the balance beam. Nelson tied for first place with a 9.725.

Nelson competed in the all-around competition and earned an overall individual score of 37.775. 

GU will return to action at home against Centenary on Saturday, Jan. 27.
