Women's gymnastics sets new program high at Centenary quad meet

SHREVEPORT, La. - The women's gymnastics team competed in a quad meet against Centenary (LA), Alaska-Anchorage, and Talladega on Sunday afternoon. The Panthers set a new program high with a team score of 187.750, finishing fourth of the four teams.

Amara Nelson was Greenville's top performer in vault, floor, and beam. Ashlie Leage was GU's best in the bars.

Greenville started the afternoon in the floor exercise, earning a 46.825. Nelson placed third with a score of 9.675

Moving to the vault, Nelson added to GU's 47.725 with her 9.600.

Leage posted a 9.575 to earn fifth place on the bars. The Panthers earned an event score of 46.125. 

GU finished off the meet on the beam where Nelson tied for fifth place with a 9.675. 

Nelson was also entered into the all-around competition, placing second with a combined score of 38.325.

The Panthers return home for their next meet on Saturday against Simpson.
