Women's soccer gains 1-0 shutout win over Augustana

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's soccer team received a goal in the second half from Jen De Leon De Leon on a penalty kick, lifting the Panthers to a 1-0 shutout victory over Augustana on Saturday.

Goalkeepers Addison Miller and Carly Wagner combined to blank the Vikings, collecting a total of four saves on eight shots. Miller had three saves in the first half, and Wagner posted one save in the second half.  The strong play of the Greenville back line proved to be the difference in the match.

De Leon De Leon led the Panthers with three shots, all on goal. In the 60th minute of the match, Augustana was called for a handball in the 18 yard box, and De Leon De Leon converted the PK to give GU the winning goal.

Kellen Price offered a pair of shots for Greenville in the match.

The Panthers (1-1) travel to Rose-Hulman for a match on Wednesday.
