Women's soccer holds first place in SLIAC with 2-0 win at Spalding

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The women's soccer team continued their undefeated beginning to the conference season with a 2-0 win at Spalding on Wednesday.

Greenville and Spalding played an even first half with the teams combining for five shots, but the Panthers strength was on display in the second half, outshooting Spalding 12-1 and adding both goals.

Greenville received the winning goal from Jen De Leon De Leon in the 55th minute. Ashlie Johnston Cabral added the assist.

Sixteen minutes later Allyson Schulz found the back of the net being helped by Kiera Coleman's assist.

Greenville ended the game with a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks, eight of which came in the second half.

The Panthers (4-2-1, 3-0 SLIAC) will travel to Fontbonne on Saturday, meeting a Griffin squad that is also 3-0 at 1 p.m. for the early season edge in the SLIAC standings.
