Women's soccer nipped 1-0 in Homecoming loss to Fontbonne

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's soccer team could not sneak a shot past Fontbonne's goalkeeper on Saturday, and Fontbonne won 1-0 at Francis Field during Homecoming.

In what became the only goal of the match, Greenville turned the ball over deep in their defensive end, and a goal was recorded when the ball slipped through the hands of Greenville's goalkeeper Addison Miller and into the net.

Despite efforts to tie the score, Greenville's attempts were futile, and they were shut out for only the fourth time this season.

Jen De Leon De Leon paced Greenville with three shots, incluuding one on frame.

Greenville was outshot 12-6 in the contest, and Miller collected five saves.

The Panthers (7-5-2, 6-3-1 SLIAC) travel to Westminster for a match on Wednesday.
