Women's soccer earns first NCAA DIvision III national tournament appearance

GREENVILLE, Ill. - For the first time in school history, the women's soccer team was crowned SLIAC tournament champion. Greenville earned a 1-0 win over Westminster at Francis Field in the championship match of the SLIAC tournament.

The Panthers received a goal from Jen De Leon De Leon in the 35th minute when she took a pass from Nina Torvisco and deposited the ball into the net for her 15th goal of the season.

The match was played evenly. Greenville had six shots, and Westminster posted seven shots. Greenville was led by De Leon with three shots.

Following the match, De Leon was named tournament MVP, and she was joined on the All-Tournament team by goalkeeper Addison Miller and Nina Torvisco.

The Panthers (13-6-2) have received the SLIAC automatic berth in the NCAA Division III national tournament, and they will discover their postseason destination on Monday afternoon.
