Women's soccer defeated by No. 13 Wisconsin-La Crosse 3-0 in NCAA first round

LA CROSSE, Wis. - The women's soccer team participated in the first round of the NCAA Division III national tournament on Friday afternoon and were shut out 3-0 despite holding No. 13 Wisconsin-La Crosse scoreless in the first half.

Greenville goalkeeper Addison Miller was tested time and time again on Friday afternoon, facing 39 shots and collecting 17 saves. Her 17 saves established her season-high. Over the last three matches Miller stopped 33 of her season's 74 saves.

After the second half commenced, GU allowed a goal in the 48th, 72nd, and 86th minutes.

The Panthers mustered four shots in the match, all by Jen De Leon De Leon. Two of De Leon's shots were on goal.

The Panthers (13-7-2) wrapped up a historic season with a No. 3 seed in the SLIAC tournament, their first SLIAC tournament championship, and inaugural appearance in the NCAA national tournament.
