Women's soccer tops Spalding 1-0 with last minute goal

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's soccer team received a goal from Emma Cadwell in the final minute to gain a 1-0 win over Spalding on Saturday afternoon.

With only a minute left, Spalding sent a goal kick out of the box that Greenville won. Vanessa Ramirez sent the ball up the field, where Katelyn Christensen received it and fought off a few Golden Eagles defenders inside the eighteen. She passed it to Cadwell, who then had a one-touch shot that flew past the goalie into the right side of the net. Christensen was awarded with the assist.

Greenville outshot Spalding 14-4, ten of which occurred in the second half. Emma Cadwell, Allyson Schulz, and Nina Torvisco led Greenville offensively with three shots each.

Addison Miller was in the net again for Greenville and had one save.

The Panthers (3-5-3, 2-1 SLIAC) will go to Principia for a match on Tuesday night.
