Women's soccer holds No. 1 Washington-St. Louis scoreless in second half in 3-0 loss

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's soccer team hosted a match against the nation's No. 1 ranked women's soccer team from Washington-St. Louis, and the Panthers held the Bears scoreless in the second half in a 3-0 loss.

Greenville was able to hold off the Bears for a while until they scored the first goal in the 17th minute. The Bears quickly tacked on a second goal in the 19th minute and another in the 35th minute. 

Vanessa Ramirez had Greenville's only shot during the first half. Unfortunately, it was saved by the Washington-St. Louis keeper.

Trailing 3-0 at halftime, the Panthers turned it up a notch in the second half. They held the Bears at bay for the entire half and had two shots of their own. Mia Long and Emma Cadwell both had attempts, but they were saved by the goalie. 

Addison Miller started in goal for the Panthers and had four saves. Madison Ashford took over in the second half and had one save. 

The Panthers (7-7-3) will conclude the regular season on Saturday at MUW.
