ST. LOUIS, Mo. - One day after witnessing the Greenville men's tennis program and their head coach Brett Brannon win their first St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship, the Panthers women's program obtained its first championship.

Greenville edged Principia 5-4 in the championship match, becoming the fourth program in conference history to win the tournament title. The team became the fourth spring Greenville University program to win the SLIAC championship this year and GU's 10th conference championship winning team of the 2021-22 school year.

No. 3 seeded Greenville opened the tournament with a 5-4 win over Webster, rallying from a 2-1 deficit after doubles. The Panthers picked up wins at No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, and No. 6 singles to knock off second seeded Webster.

Greenville moved on to the championship match against top-seeded Principia where they were able to pick up two points in doubles action. Greenville's No. 2 doubles team of Shaling Reynolds and Claudia Principia won 8-7, and the No. 3 team of Emily Buratovich and Callie Adkins took an 8-4 triumph.

Greenville was able to pick up wins at No. 2, No. 5, and No. 6 singles with a narrow margin of victory from Addison Brannon at No. 2.

Brannon dropped the opening set 6-1 but rallied to win 7-6, 7-6, staving off multiple match points during the second set tiebreaker and winning the match in another tiebreaker in the third set.

Emily Buratovich won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5 singles and Stephanie Kamp recorded a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles to secure the win for Greenville.
