Women's track and field receives four wins in second place performance

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The women's indoor track and field team earned 41 points at Illinois College on Saturday, taking second place in a group of four competing teams.  Cayden Sharp finished with three wins for Greenville, and Hannah Williams gained one first place award.

Sharp was the meet winner in the high jump, clearing 1.55 meters (5 feet-1 inch) in her final attempt.

Sharp also was the event champion in the triple jump, reaching a distance of 10.62 meters (34-10.25)

Sharp won the 60 meter hurdles, ending the race in 10.10 seconds.

Williams managed to finish as the winner of 800 meter run, completing the race in 2:38.19.  Sedina Logan placed as the runner-up in the 800, clocking a time of 2:51.53.

Alexa Seger placed second in the 60 meter dash with a team of 8.22 seconds, and Tawny Rodriguez was second in the shot put with a mark of 11.65 meters (38-2.75).

The Panthers will go to Principia next Saturday for the SLIAC indoor championships.
