Women's track and field takes three wins at Illinois College

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The women's indoor track and field team participated in the Illinois College Snow Bird Invite on Saturday. Taylor Tucker and Emma Leonhard managed to bring home event victories by combining for wins in three events.

Tucker placed first in the preliminaries of the 55 meter dash, clocking a time of 7.50 seconds. She also ended first in the finals by recording a finish of 7.52 seconds.

Tucker also collected a first place mark in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.52 seconds.

Emma Leonhard ended with a win in the 3000 meter race, completing the race in 12:13.05.

Greenville received second place marks in four events with three women accounting for the runner-up placements.

Olivia Mansfield produced a second place time in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:34.23.

Abbi Thomason excelled in the 55 meter hurdles, taking second in the prelims with a time of 10.40 seconds and second in the finals by completing the race in 10.45 seconds.

Sara Yakana provided a pair of second place marks in the jumps. She was second in long jump with a distance of 4.88 meters (16 feet-0 inches), and she also added a second place position in the triple jump, leaping to a top distance of 10.27 meters (33-8).

The Panthers return to the track on Friday at Principia in another indoor meet.
