Women's track and field records fifth at WashU

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The women's track and field team finished their largest meet to date with a fifth place finish among the nine participating teams that scored points in the event. Tawny Rodriguez was a winner for Greenville in the discus throw.

Rodriguez posted a distance of 41.02 meters in the discus, taking the win over a participant from WashU by almost two and a half meters. She also provided Greenville with a third place mark in the shot put at 11.50 meters and a fourth place finish in the hammer throw with an attempt of 42.31 meters.

Greenville also had three other marks that placed fourth in their respective events.

Cayden Sharp posted a time of 12.38 seconds in the 100 meter dash taking fourth. She joined Alexa Seger, Kiki Boscolo, and Taylor Tucker with a fourth place time of 49.98 seconds in the 4x100 meter relay.

In the javelin throw, Andrea Hudson provided a throw of 32.87 meters.

The Panthers will compete at McKendree next weekend.
