Women's track and field takes second at Monmouth

MONMOUTH, Ill. - The women's track and field team ranked second of six teams at Monmouth on Saturday.  Greenville posted 151 points, receiving second by 25 points.

Cayden Sharp won the 100 meter hurdles by over one second, completing the event in 15.31 seconds.

Olivia Mansfield earned first place in the 800 meter run, recording a time of 2:21.18.

Abbi Thomason gave GU the best effort of the meet in the javelin with a winning distance of 34.61 meters.

Greenville posted a host of second place marks

Tawny Rodriguez tied for first in the discus but was given second place with a mark of 41.30 meters. Rodriguez was also second in the shot put, offering an attempt of 11.84 meters.

Anna Beth Vancil posted the second best height in the high jump, clearing 1.43 meters.

Alexis Roberts, Mansfield, Vanessa Compton, and Taylor Tucker had a time of 4:47.16 in the 4x400 meter relay, placing second.

Tucker also gave Greenville a time of 26.19 seconds in the 200, posting a runner-up position, and she was also second in the 400 meter dash in 59.84 seconds.

The Panthers return to action on Wednesday in the NCCAA national championships in Greenville.
