Women's track and field earns four runner-up marks at Indiana State and Illinois College

The women's track and field team participated in meets at Illinois College and Indiana State on Saturday. The Panthers earned fourth place at Indiana State and 5th place at Illinois College. Greenville had four second place finishes combined between the two meets.

Indiana State

Tawny Rodriguez placed second overall in the shot put with a distance of 12.23 meters, and Ashley Smith's attempt of 12.03 meters was third.

Laila Graham and Anna Beth Vancil posted 3-4 finishes in the high jump. Graham recorded a clearance of 1.56 meters and Vancil reach 1.52 meters.

Olivia Mansfield was fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:33.97, and Gretchen Carie's time of 5:41.51 was good for fourth in the mile.

Illinois College

Jocelyn Fritz had a second place finish in the 55 meter hurdles, posting a time of 9.492 seconds. She was also fourth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.36 seconds.

Sara Yakana posted second place in the triple jump, reaching a distance of 10.44 meters.

The 4x200 meter relay team of Cheyenne Bradshaw, Eyonna Owens, Madi Pierce, and Fritz were second with a time of 1:52.05.

Talahiva Talanoa was third in the shot put, recording a best mark of 11.85 meters. She was also third in the weight throw with a mark of 14.30 meters.

The 4x400 meter relay team of Kiera Coleman, Vanessa Compton, Brooklyn McKee, and Alexis Roberts finished third with a time of 4:32.24.

Leah Brown posted a time of 6:03.24 to take fourth in the mile run.

Next Up

The Panthers will send qualifiers to the NCCAA national championships next Friday and Saturday at Cedarville.
