Women's track and field led by Graham and Talanoa with wins at Illinois Wesleyan

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The women's track and field team received wins from Laila Graham and Talahiva Talanoa in their opening indoor meet of the season at Illinois Wesleyan.

Graham placed first in the high jump, reaching a clearance of 1.58 meters (5 feet-2.25 inches)

Talanoa had the top position in the shot put with a distance of 12.94 meters (42-5.5).

Ashley Smith placed second in the shot put with a best attempt of 11.89 meters (39-0.25), and Talanoa added a second place finish in the weight throw at 16.82 meters (55-2.25).

Panthers placing third included Anna Beth Vancil in the high jump at 1.53 meters (5-0.25), and Graham recorded a distance of 5.10 meters (16-8.75) in the long jump for third.

Jazmyn Harmon ranked third in the triple jump at 10.84 meters (35-6.75).

Smith had a third place distance of 15.01 meters (49-3) in the weight throw.

Fourth place winners were Jocelyn Fritz with a time of 9.78 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles and Harmon in the long jump at 5.07 meters (16-7.75).

The Panthers compete next on Jan. 20 at Illinois College.
