Women's indoor track and field collects second place at Indiana State

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The women's indoor track and field team received 69 of their 85 points from Sara Yakana, Talahiva Talanoa, Ashley Smith, and Laila Graham in their runner up finish at Indiana State on Saturday.

Yakana dominated for the Panthers with first in the long jump (5.29 meters), first in the triple jump (10.80 meters), third in the 200 meter dash (26.74 seconds), and fourth in the 60 meter dash (7.77 seconds).

Talanoa won the shot put with an effort of 13.23 meters, and ranked second in the weight throw at 16.49 meters.

Smith was third in the shot put at 12.12 meters and sixth in the weight throw with a mark of 13.77 meters.

Graham posted a clearing of 1.55 meters in the high jump for third and reached a distance of 4.97 meters in the long jump in placing sixth.

The Panthers will return to the track at Cedarville next weekend at the NCCAA national championships.
