ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The women's track and field team posted an admirable showing at the Washington-St. Louis opening meet. The Panthers placed second of the teams with 163.5 points.

Talahiva Talanoa was GU's top performing student-athlete with the win in the shot put (12.94 meters/42 feet-5.5 inches) and second place showings in the discus (39.11 meters/128-4) and hammer throw (47.28 meters/155-1).

Jazmyn Harmon posted point-producing showings in four events. Harmon ended fifth in the 200 meter dash (27.03 seconds) and joined Taylor Tucker, Laila Graham, and Jocelyn Fritz for second in the 4x100 meter relay (48.70 seconds). Harmon place fourth in the long jump (5.11 meters/16-9.25) and won the triple jump (10.70 meters/35-1.25).

Graham chipped in first place in the high jump (1.60 meters/5-3) and third place in the long jump (5.16 meters/17-2.25).

Emma Brown managed to win the javelin with an attempt of 38.14 meters (125-1).

The Panthers will head back to Washington-St. Louis for a meet on Friday, March 29, and Saturday, March 30.
