Women's volleyball sweeps day two of Mount St. Joseph tournament

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The women's volleyball team completed their season opening tournament at Mount St. Joseph with two three set wins on Saturday. The Panthers defeated Wilmington (Ohio) 25-14, 25-22, 25-17 and Anderson (Ind.) 25-17, 25-12, 25-18.

In the Wilmington match, the Panthers hit better than .200 in each set, collecting 48 kills and 17 errors in 121 attacks for a hitting rate of .256. The Panthers performed the best in the final set, posting a line of 19-6-42-.310.

Sacorra Patton ended the match with 14.5 points for GU. She had 13 kills and three block assists.

Jasmine Smith and Anna Finch each provided 11.5 points. Smith tallied 11 kills and one block assist while Finch produced eight kills, one solo block, and five block assists.

Jordan Lempa served as the primary setter and totaled 38 assists.

Patton and Smith each put a double-double on the scoresheet, adding 16 and 13 digs, respectively.

Against Anderson, Emily Stahl was Greenville's leading point producer with nine kills and two block assists for 10 points.

Finch added 9.5 points with eight kills, one solo block, and one block assist.

Lempa again led Greenville with 30 assists.

Chasity Hill managed to collect a team-high 19 digs.

The Panthers (3-1) host Westminster in their SLIAC opener on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
