Women's volleyball splits at North Park

CHICAGO, Ill. - The women's volleyball team performed admirably at North Park on Saturday, dropping a five set thriller to No. 11 Wisconsin-Eau Claire before topping North Park in four sets to split the day'
s matches.

In Greenville's opening match, the Panthers suffered a 25-17, 25-18, 18-25, 20-25, 15-11 loss to the Blugolds.

Anna Finch and Sacorra Patton led Greenville offensively in the match each with 15 kills.

Jasmin Smith posted a double-double in the match with 11 kills and a team-high 15 digs.

Lauren Spivey was effective at the net with one solo block and two block assists.

Jordan Lempa and Kaitlin Murray directed GU's offense. Lempa collected 24 set assists, and Murray ended with 22 set assists.

In match two, the Panthers were 25-16, 25-22, 16-25, 25-19 victors over the host North Park.

Emily Stahl finished as Greenville's leader with nine kills, a solo block, and a block assist for 10 1/2 points.

Lempa ended with Greenville's high effort with 20 set assists, and Murray posted 18 set assists.

Chasity Hill led GU's defensive effort in the back row with 21 digs.

Spivey accumulated an eye-opening seven block assists.

The Panthers (11-3) travel to St. Louis for a match on Monday against Fontbonne at 7 p.m.
