Women's volleyball earns two wins at Grinnell

GRINNELL, Iowa - The women's volleyball team won a pair of matches in Iowa on Saturday, taking a 21-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-19 win over Grinnell in their opening match and a 25-18, 25-13, 25-22 triumph against Concordia Moorhead in the second match.

Sacorra Patton led a contingent of three Panthers who reached double digits in kills, providing GU with 17 against Grinnell. Amanda Hollis followed Patton with 14 kills, and Mia Bonacorsi added 10 kills.

Hollis had a double-double in the match, accumulating 17 set assists, and Patton also posted a double-double by adding 10 digs.

Greenville's defensive effort was led by Chasity Hill with 19 digs and Dana DeFreezer who provided one solo block and four block assists.

Kaitlin Murray posted a team-high 20 set assists and two service aces.

Overall, the Panthers tallied 55 kills and only 11 errors as they hit at a .299 clip.

Greenville continued their solid play in their second match of the day against Concordia Moorhead, sweeping their opponents in three sets.

Mia Bonacorsi was the top point producer for the Panthers, adding 15 kills, two block assists, and a service ace for 18 points.

Murray managed the offense with a team-high 17 set assists.

Hill paced Greenville in the back row with 18 digs, and Mia deJesus was a force at the net with four block assists.

The Panthers (2-2) resume their season at Illinois Wesleyan on Friday with a match against Rose-Hulman.
