Volleyball runs winning streak to six with three-set sweep of UHSP

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The volleyball team extended their season-high winning streak to six matches with a brisk 63 minute win over UHSP on Tuesday night in H.J. Long Gymnasium. It took the Panthers some time to click on all cylinders, and they allowed the Eutectics to push them to 25-20 in the first set, but Greenville dominated with 25-8 and 25-12 scores in the final sets to take the win.

GU posted their third best attack percentage of the season, producing a mark of .264 on 91 swings. The Panthers ended with 34 kills and only 10 errors, their lowest number of errors in match this season.

The Panthers were led by the production of newcomer Lainey Hicks, who posted five kills, two solo blocks, and six block assists in a 10 point effort.

Sacorra Patton ended as the team leader with seven kills, and Madison Schmidt and Mia deJesus each added six kills.

Kaitlin Murray organized GU's offense with a team-high 18 set assists, and Amanda Hollis added 12 set assists.

Chasity Hill produced three service aces and a team-leading 18 digs.

The Panthers (10-5) travel to DePauw for a match on Wednesday night before Westminster visits GU on Friday night for a match between the top two teams in the SLIAC standings.
