Volleyball collects two wins at Fontbonne

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The volleyball team added two wins on Saturday in their matches at Fontbonne. Greenville topped Fontbonne in their first match and then defeated Principia in a second match.

The Panthers dropped the first set 25-20 against Fontbonne but rattled off 25-21, 25-20, 25-19 wins over the remaining three sets.

Mia Bonacorsi was the match leader with 16 kills on 44 swings. She had 10 errors to bring her hitting percentage to .136.

Kaitlin Murray led GU with 23 set assists, and Amanda Hollis added 20 set assists.

Greenville's defensive efforts were led by Chasity Hill and Lainey Hicks. Hill posted 32 digs in four sets, and Hicks finished with nine block assists.

Greenville used the depth in their roster in the day's second match. The team topped Principia 25-16, 25-8, 25-12 using a group of reserves.

Laneisha Lott posted 11 kills and four errors on 22 attacks to finish with a .318 hitting percentage.

Ines Gonzalez provided 25 set assists.

Lucia Garcia accumulated nine service aces and led GU with 13 digs.

The Panthers (14-5, 8-0 SLIAC) will face Principia on the road on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
