Volleyball drops four set decision at No. 4 Washington-St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The volleyball team lost in a four set match to the nation's number four ranked Washington University volleyball team on Wednesday night at the Washington University Fieldhouse. Greenville dropped the match 25-11, 25-16, 14-25, 25-16.

Mia Bonacorsi and Sacorra Patton led the Panthers in the match, each being responsible for 10 points.

Patton finished with nine kills, and Bonacorsi added eight kills. Bonacorsi tacked on a service ace and two block assists, while Patton added two block assists.

Kaitlin Murray led GU with 18 set assists, and Amanda Hollis had 15 set assists.

The Greenville defensive effort was led by Bonacorsi with 17 digs. Lainey Hicks produced two solo blocks and three block assists.

Overall, GU finished with 40 kills and 20 errors on 128 swings, posting a rate of .156. The Panthers had an incredible third set with 11 kills, one error, 22 attacks, and a hitting rate of .455.

The Panthers (15-6) will host Eureka at 3 p.m. on Friday, followed by a match at 7 p.m. on Friday night against Blackburn in their Homecoming match.
